Engine Company # 2
Engine Company # 2 was the first engine company of the East Islip Fire Department. Originally formed in 1891 as the ST Peters Hose Company, it was named after one of East Islip's leading citizens who provided the East Islip firefighters with their first hose. The company took on its current name in 1939 when the East Islip Fire Department was organized into four companies. The members of Engine Co. # 2 celebrated 50 years of service in 1989. Several members of the company have risen through the ranks from lieutenant to Chief of Department. Our members take great pride, not a paycheck in protecting each other and our community.
